One of the guiding principles at Weather Source is the often quoted phrase "Treat others the way you want to be treated". This simple but powerful advice is our mantra when it comes to your privacy and how we help you if you ever need customer service.

Weather Source understands that your privacy and the security of your private information are extremely important. We further understand that as you use the Weather Warehouse website, you expect that your personal information will be handled securely and responsibly.

What information do we collect?

When you're making a purchase through the Weather Warehouse, we need to collect some basic information to properly handle your order and process the payment for your purchase. Specifically, we collect your name, address, phone number, email address, and information from the credit card you're using to make your purchase. We also collect a confirmation as to whether you'd like to receive occasional emails from Weather Source informing you of important developments and products.

What information do we store?

We DO NOT store any credit card numbers on any computer equipment owned or controlled by Weather Source. We DO store all other information as this is critical to providing you with service and support.

How is the credit card information processed?

When you enter the credit card processing part of the Weather Warehouse, you'll notice the beginning of the URL changes from 'http' to 'https'. The 's' is an indication that you are now using the Weather Warehouse in secure (SSL) mode, which means data flowing into and out of your web browser is encrypted. This means that your credit card information is encrypted prior to and during the credit card processing transaction. This is done for your protection.

Weather Source DOES NOT store or retain any credit card numbers that customers enter in the process of making a purchase. The credit card information is encrypted and transmitted to our credit card processing provider (Authorize.Net). The transaction usually takes about a second and upon completion all electronic representations of your credit card number are purged.

Will my personal information ever be sold or distributed to other parties not related to Weather Source?

Weather Source is in the weather information business, we are not in the business of selling people's personal information. Furthermore, we realize we received your information because you wanted to make a purchase and were required to provide this information to us in order to complete this purchase. We understand it is likely your wish that this information not be shared with other parties who might target you with junk mail or spam. With that understanding Weather Source is committed to never selling or otherwise distributing your information to any entity that would have the intent of contacting you or sending you marketing materials. On occasion, certain inquires for weather information or services are shared with our partner company Weather Analytics, as Weather Analytics is better suited to service certain requests. In the event that Weather Source is ever sold, we reserve the right to transfer all customer information to the new owners of Weather Source, however the new owners will be required to honor this Privacy Policy.

Will my personal information ever be used for any other purpose beyond my purchase and the servicing of my order?

Weather Source will from time to time analyze the information we collect for the purpose of understanding what weather products and services would best serve our customers. In this exercise the details of you personal information are not targeted, rather we analyze patterns from large groups of customers. This helps us provide you and the rest of our customers with best in class weather products.

What is your policy for sending me email?

We will send you email associated with purchases you make on the Weather Warehouse. Such emails are critical as they provide important information about your purchase. Also, if you have indicated that you would like to receive information on product updates from Weather Source, we will send these as well. Typically we send these announcements out about 2 to 4 times per year. Like you, we also like to avoid unwanted email, but if your interests can benefit from being informed of our latest products, then these emails are a great way to stay informed.

Design

This site has been designed for screen resolutions of 1070x760 and above with with any standards compliant browser, preferably Firefox, using at least 16-bit color. Support has been provided for Internet Explorer 7 and above.
